Earth-Like around a Neutron star

It seems like an Earth-Like around a Neutron star should be quite rare but they’re actually more common than you’d think. I mean, they’re not abundant – but there are enough of them out there. But that doesn’t stop this one being probably my favourite Earth-Like (so far, anyway). It is the sole planet around the star, and it is also ringed. This is Zunuae SO-Z d13-8380 1, and I visited it late on 28th Feb. This actually became my 4th Earth-Like in 2 days.

Spinning Herbig Ae/Be stars

I have a bit of an obsession with spinning stars, and the most common ones are Herbig Ae/Be stars. I took quite a few videos of these on my trip to Sag A*. Here’s a couple of them.

First off a white one, these seem to be the most common. It can be hard to see the effect on some of these.

And an orange one. Much easier to see the effect, I think these ones look more impressive.

Some random interesting pictures

Just some pictures I found interesting from my travels. First off, a couple of systems with stars in close proximity

And this is a few pictures from a system close to – but just outside of – a large cluster of A and B stars. Immediately upon jumping to the system you can see a lot of stars directly behind the main star.

Moving further away from the main star, you can see just how bright the sky is

You wait ages for an Earth-Like then 3 come along at once

It took me ages to find my first Earth-Like. So I was a bit surprised when just a short while after discovering it on 27th Feb, I came across another. At that point, it was late so I called it a night. I resumed my journey in the morning – only to find another Earth-Like very soon after. So, here is Shrogea RC-Z c27-857 3

And Zuni KD-K c8-523 2 (it doesn’t look like there’s much landmass on this one)

V Aquiilae

I haven’t tagged too many systems that don’t have auto-generated names but I did manage to tag this one, and it’s main star is also a carbon star. V Aquiilae A is 12.7 billion years old and has a solar radius of 18.5.

A couple of systems worth a visit

Just a couple of systems that are worth a visit. The primary star is an O class in each case and they have a lot of other stars orbiting them.

First off, HD 168137. I actually had to stitch together 2 screenshots from System Map for this one.

And HD 171198 – this one I managed to squeeze into 1 single screenshot.
